Some wrapping
« on: 26 August 2010, 21:29 »
Finished the aircon unit and coin tray surround. Took me ages and a trip to B&Q for some allen keys to unscrew the unit.

Heres it at the moment. Next will be the symphony II. I just need to get some keys so i can pull it out to wrap it.

(Forgot to put the piece behind the ashtray back lol)

ive just bought some 3m di noc carbon wrap and am going to try wrapping some mk2 interior bits, very impressed with what uve done there mate looks awsome, how easy is the wrap to work with, does it crease and bubble easily and does it manage corners and contours well or is it abit of a pain?

Thanks

Its very easy, just cut it right and use heat to stretch it.

I would advise some 3M lacquer to prevent edges from receding but this is only likely in heat and on tight corners where you had to over stretch it. You can however lacquer it all for a more realistic finish.

Best bet is to practice on something with some curves and edges so you can understand the best way too use it. Im still learning.

Just did my petrol cap for some practice
