I used the old membranes as a template and did about three layers on my old Rallye. It stopped the leak though that's for sure.

Old ones Shrink....

Get some good quality plastic sheeting and make your own & use gaffa tape to hold em in place...

All the clips you can get NEW from VW & its worth the dosh to do it....

I uses some heavy duty clear plastic from b&q and used silicone sealant. Duct tape didn't work. Also I put a small second piece that fit inside the lower hole in the door to deflect water to the drain holes. This stops any problems with water sitting in the bottom of the outer membrane.  Make sure its a good fit otherwise the window will catch it when operating.

ahhh nice, thanks for posting, going to try and do this next weekend if its sunny as well as starting the spray job of my rear bumper

luckily the door card has dried out now but the bottom is now totally warped and well a bit F****** ill see what i can do to remedy it so it fits back on the door and clips in place!

This is what you want to use instead of gaffa/duct tape!

You can really smooth it out and it sticks like sh!t to bedsheets!

I found the key to stopping the leaks was to tuck the sheet in at the bottom. Also, as you can kind of make out in then picture I tucked the sheet back underneath itself to create a channel for the water to run down instead of seeping through the duct tape.



Then tape the sheet so that the channel will run in to bottom of the door, and the rest of the sheet so it is tucked into the void space of the door
