1st,,,,, get the engine up 2 temp,,,,,,, n keep it running while u do it.

2nd,,,,,, ust sum engine de-greeseer where u get frm a car shop,,, n do what it says on the tin,,,,,

3rd,,,, scrub it on with a brush,,,,,(an old ally cleanin brush is good)

4,,,,,do in with a pressure washer if not hoes pipe n rince it off well,

5,,,,,,,, keep the water away frm air flow meter,,,,,they dont like it,,,

6,,,,,,, keep the engine running till its all dry,, n look ?at ya shinny like new lump

pour boiling water over them as alot of the grime will be wax from your inner wings, bear in mind with all this though, you can expose all sorts of stuuf that was protected by grease etc so it'll go all rusty then you'll try to paint it then you'll start to chrome the odd bit and before you know it your spending your weekends polishing your engine!

GUNK is the stuff for getting the grim off your head and gearbox. Comes in either a spray can or a tin. I've got a before and after side by side pic of my 8v if you want to see it.
