Early and Late Suspension Mounts
« on: 22 August 2010, 23:27 »
Been faffing about looking at suspension and have noticed that in a lot of cases there are different kits available for early and late model Mk.3s. I believe the difference is in the suspension mountings. Can anyone shead any more light on what exactly is different between the early and late set ups?

yeah the later springs were bigger diameter at the top, so the upper spring plate is wider to suit. top mounts etc all the same though on the GTIs.
On the 4 stud models the early cars had MK2 top mounts, later ones had MK3 GTI top mounts.
