Correct aerial type beesting or in front wing?
« on: 20 August 2010, 08:10 »
Hi all,

Just after a bit of clarification, i've recently bought a 91 J plate Golf GTI and it has the aerial (snapped so needs replacing) in the front wing. I read a post that said the beesting was standard on the last of the MK2's but looking at other J reg GTI's there seems to be a mixture of both.

What's the right one?

Common mod on 8v's to have the beesting.  I think the wing grommet is still available from VW and cheap - not overpriced like some on eBay!
If you want a beesting, go for the amplified version.

you need to get a lot more sorted before you worry about aerials
