Golf GTi 16v anniversary - Immobiliser question
« on: 19 August 2010, 21:57 »
Hi there

I have a Golg GTi 16v anniversary edition.

When I open the car with the key switch, unless I start the car within say 30 seconds, the imobiliser kicks in and I can't start the car then  -  unless I lock and open the car by pressing the switch key again.

In previous cars all I had to do was press a certain piece of the switch key agaist a part inside the car, then the imobiliser would be active no more.

The only problem is I can't locate where I should press the switch key inside the car  -  can anyone help?

The switck key has "conlog" on it, just in case it helps!

Thanks guys in advance!

yeah - after 30seconds of the car opening the immob kicks in.  Turn the ignition on, then press the fob and it'll disarm for another 30seconds- then you don't have to lock/unlock

Cheers,

James
You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

My anniversary has the wee press-in bit in the glove box. What Javelin says is correct though...
