Don't you get a 9% selling fee if your item sells on ebay ?

Only up to around £35/40. Do you honestly think people would sell cars on there if it were going to cost them £2k? :lipsrsealed:

How can AutoExpress say Top speed: 155mph (est) when VW only quote 147mph. I could estimate mine at the same speed.

Well if anyone buys something they can't see of eBay is asking for trouble.

Warranty would be void if superchips fettled with it!!
Yes, quite right Danno, that's why I find it hard to understand all the remaps people are getting on their brand new almost £30K cars. Obviously loaded and don't worry about warranties

I just sold something at £400, got £38 charge.

Maybe the car section has a slightly different %.

I sent him an email suggesting he mention this information as its very misleading. He replied with:

I have checked with VW and the warranty is fine.

Interesting, so if you remove all your mods your warranty is back on again, which sort of makes sense, but at the same time Im VERY sceptical . .  :undecided:

^^

lol, I did exactly the same thing and got the same answer...
I would expect that the dealers would say something different if the engine went ka-boom.

It's fine saying just put the original map back on and all is well. If VW want to, they can read the logs and see if the chip has ever been written to. Then your fecked.

Thats exactly what I thought. They can see the cars been mapped at some point in time which as we all know means no warranty.

Exactly. The perfect excuse for them not to honour the warranty. Manufacturers are slippery and will wriggle out if the can from paying up.

I am quite sure the GTI is limited to its current top speed. A map removes this limit and will allow it to go a fair bit higher, i think maybe thats what they are getting at.
