Disgraceful and penny pinching. I guess they were just hoping it would be unoticeable, or the customer would just accept it, which is not an acceptable solution.

You are so right. They thought I would not notice.
The bodyshop told them this was not acceptable a number of times but to no avail.
VW have paid the bodyshop approx £40 for the paint and £60 for labour. Saw the costs!

Am1w, not sure if this is much consolation, but I was behind a new 10 plate gti tonight and it had a few creases round the number plate area!!

am1w..... it looks like it will get sorted in the end but what a drama. I can understand your reluctance to ever by a VW again which would be a shame. Is this your first VW or GTI out of interest?

p.s. I like your medal status since I've been away.

Medal status only happened due to 2 long threads about the flipping rear bumper! Some good from bad.

Got my car back this morning.

Perfect job. Perfect rear bumper. Car better than when new! Car in immaculate condition. Delighted.

Thank you Dustybones, Snoops.
What an unpleasant experience it has been.
Glad it is over.
Been told by my contact at VW to contact her if I have any further problems with warranty issues. Nice of her.
