hello from sunny milton keynes by the sea
« on: 14 August 2010, 22:20 »
hey
just got myself a little toy in the shape of a '96 16v 3 door in mystic blue, had shed loads of vw kit in the past including a mk1 gti years ago, a mk2 a fare while ago alongside  a couple of type 25's, a bay window, several beetles, a karman ghia project and breifly a very rare beach buggy ( rare due to expreme uglyness i'm guessing ).
the mk3 was well cheap, well cheap for the body and interior but about right mechanically, engine loom just laying where ever it fell, including partially on the manifold, sump filled with instant gasket silly string which sucked up into the pickup pipe filter and starved the top end of oil ( breifly with no damage caused ) and a rocker cover gasket that leaks like a goodun at one end.
so plenty of things to keep me amused at the weekends before i start actually improving it.
oh and also my 19 year old son just traded up from a battered '93 diesel to a '97 8v gti which has shown him the cars and driving can actually fe fun.
de-badged, de-trimmed tractor height 16v sleeper for a steady 30mph over the 4.3 million speed bumps in milton keynes, each to their own

Hello and welcome!

Was this the one that a guy in Potterspury was selling recently?
