Golf MK6 GTI With Stage One Superchip Re Map
« on: 10 August 2010, 19:24 »
Hi,
I'm new to the forum as this MK6 GTI is only the second VW I have owned (apart from 3 transporter vans and 2 MK3 Golf Cans)
I'm wondering if anyone has had fitted an aftermarkey exhaust and if anyone has any tips or recommendations?
I have looked at the Miltek and Blue Flame and also a couple of specialist exhaust manafacturers. The prices have varied from £295 for just a rear box through to £700! So with that kind of variable I would like some input before I do anything!
Thanks

Hi Snoopy,
Thanks for that I'll have a look.
Great forum! I'll have to go to the MK3 area as well as my wife has a MK3 GTI that seems like it hits the rev limiter at 5k?
Cheers

I've had a look in the MK6 section and it looks to me like the only exhaust fitted is a Miltek??
I have had some dialogue with mijperformance.com - they have offered a beskope exhaust for a very reasonable £385 inclusive for a full cat back system! Good value but has anyone used them?
What are these Carbonio intakes like? I had an M3 CSL that sounded fantastic, this was all down to the intake and the 'roar' was induction noise.....anyone know how these sound??
Thanks

The carbonio intakes were very popular with the mk5 gti... I havent heard one so cannot comment on what they sound like. I would assume quite good as they were often snapped up from awesomegti.  :nerd:

I have the 3" Blue Flame onmne and cant fault it one bit, looks good, sounds good and helps free up some horses! Also got the Carbonio intake, again i like the sound coming from it plus it looks good in the engine, much more tidy looking and again frees up some horses  There are other intake out there that will just be as good at half the price but i generally liked the look of the Carbonio

Sorry Steve.... I'm a 'true blue' Chelsea fan! The Saint Mary's is in reference to a bend at goodwood, where Stirling Moss crashed and I rolled a 1994 3.0ltr M3......
Thanks Kenny, I'm going to fit the intake as they look very good. Still not sure what to do about an exhaust!

I must say that i am very pleased with my latest editions, Milltek TBE, Carbonio stage 1 & 2,
Exhaust sounds awesome not boy racerish but a nice deep tone and a growl when giving it some beans
Filter you get a subtle sucking noise not an induction roar, Throttle response and pull is awesome all the way to the Redline
+ a nice Turbo chatter
Not cheap thou

Now waiting to get my map sorted, remove Revo, Install APR Stage 2  (Revo have some sort of blocking code on it  )
