So fitted my dropped spindles today. They basically lower the car by another 2.5" and widen the track slightly. I needed to do this as even though it sat low the front control / suspension arms were basically upright when they should have been level. By fitting these I can now wind the beam adjusters up and have it sat right.
I was expecting it to be a right ball ache due to the 50 years of grime, but it wasn;t a bad job. It essentiall entailed pulling of the spindles, stripping the drum to unbolt the spindle and then drift out the bushes so split the original spindles from the carriers / mounts. Then rebuild!
First side off
Drum split
New spindle.
Then I forgot to take any pictures up until this point
If you look you can see the framehead laying on the ground. Full on panscraping.
Where it widens it, it makes it look a bit ungainly, but I like it - almost looks gasserish
Good day today. From this we have found it needs about a 2.5" channel so nothing major, but it will make the side profile a lot nicer.
Just need to get paid today and then I can sort the rear shocks. Feeling the love for it again!
