Clock Swaps

I need to sort the lights out on my clocks and would really like to install these dials.

The only trouble is mine is a 16v 89 with 160mph clocks. What exaclty would i need to do to swap to 140mph clocks?

to make your clocks work on the 140mph scale you need to change the speedo drive on the gearbox end of the cable

at the mo your's uses the red speedo drive, u need the white one. i have one if you want it

its just a clip off clip on affair

i looked at these lights too, the only thing i wasn't sure about was how you'd illuminate the needle as these don't allow you to have the bulbs shining on the display, so at night it could be a bit of guess work judging your speed. any thoughts?

I was going to try leaving the origional clock bulbs going and see what it looked like or try painting the needles white or orange and installing a black light.

Gambit are you sure mine are the one plug clocks? Arnt pre 90's 2 plugs?

Hazard on dash means the clocks are the two plug type!

Best way to do it is when you get the replacement clocks, simply swap your old speedo into the new set.  That way you keep your milage, dead easy just make sure you keep the correct 'L' shaped circuit board and bit that screws into the rear of the clocks with the right set of clocks
