When i purchased my car, I was told by the seller it wasn't a import, now checking through the records again i notice that delivery of the vehicle was make to a dealer in UAE... with the following stamp.. is it an import?

Looks like an import, best thing to do is ring VW UK who will tell you. Or ring the dealer in the UAE and he should be able to tell you. Generally the UAE spec is a lot higher and I know they have uprated A/C systems etc. Wald could mean something in Arabic.

how much cheaper are imports to UK models? the buyer still reckons he is the first owner and is not an import, i want some money back - private seller, even have email evidence him advising me he is the one owner and is a UK Spec car... supplied via motor depot in UK!

will i find it hard to sell when i decide to?

First off, all GTis are imports.

The wording here seems very calculated as the car may actually conform to UK spec leading the original buyer to assume that that meant it was a UK car when he bought it i.e. not an import.

What you really need to do is check what year the car was manufactured (you can do so from the VIN) as some of these Middle East cars have been stood in storage for up to two years before being shipped over here for sale.

It's a tough one my car is an EU import which i was aware of when i bought it but it was still a new car and i'm the first owner.  I also went through the spect to make sure it was as UK.  It does not seem to have any impact on price at dealers but my car is almost 3 years only now.  Imports only get 2 years warranty.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you should of been more careful before you brought it. If it hasn't got a UK dealer stamp in the service book, then its not a UK car, first thing most buyers ever look at.
