high milage remapping

hi i have ed 30 gti thinking of getting it remaped. it has 38k with fvsh, im the 2nd owner the 1st 1 being a mature old man lol.
i was wondering would this have any affect, eg like to many miles to start tuning it etc. advice would be grateful cheers.

will be fine mate, load of MK4 1.8t's with 100k miles+ get remaped and its fine, will wear out things slightly quicker like the clutch ect but all depends on how u drive really.

A remap itself wont cause porblems to the engine, the problems may already be there and the remap will just bring them to light quicker or show up weaknesses.

Your Ed30 will have no problem what so ever at that mileage as its still very low mileage. As tom said people with golfs on 100-120k+ are still getting there cars remapped.

There is not fixed rule as thumb for issues really, issues happen when they want to happen stock or remapped.    If you do get issues after the remap they are only going to be minor issues, like the dv coils, maf, boost pipes ect.. 
I had a Mk5 GT dgs in around a 4 weeks back with 145miles on the clock, it made good power on the dyno and pulled very strong and smooth on the road without any issuse, and touch wood the car is still going strong and going like a rocket with out any issues.  Infact he is wanting to book in for a milltek full turbo back system and stage 2 260bhp remap.

Hi guys. Im new to this. I bought a mk 3 gti 16v recently. Its dne 80k miles in gd con. Its standard apart frm a ram air induction that I fitted. I want to get more power from it. Any advice wud b grateful. Thx

It's not the mileage it's how well it's been driven/looked after to be honest. If I drove a car like a c*^! I could kill it in 20k, if it was driven nicely and well serviced it could be still mint in 200k, you see my point?
