How do you go about painting it without removing anything ??? ... im talking about on the 16v ... is their any sort of heat proof hammerite paint in halfords for example that can be picked up to be put on carefully using a paintbrush? because at the moment, my valver underneath the hood is let down by the crappy discoloured engine, wouldnt mind just carefully painting it black, and having the DOHC in red.

There are loads of heat proof paints you can use. Hammerite heatproof worked well on my motorbike exhaust. As for the vr6 inlet I think the look tacky painted. I would take it off and spend an evening cleaning it right up with metal cleaners

Go to halfords online, you will find the paint on there, its also in bnq, homebase, the range, most stores like that mate! I think im going to do what wayne said and take it off and spray my bits for a smoother finish
