i have pulled apart my seized ABF engine

it doesn't look pretty does it...lol the smell when i took the head off was bad it was burnt old think it got exteamly hot

think im gonna get another engine head dont look to bad but that could be warpped or cracked beond repair.......

wot to do?

does any 2.0 bottom end fit or do i need a ABF bottom end???

its a shame its been left to die like this but im thinkin its gonna be cheaper to get another engine

9A will fit from Corrado or Passat,

if its running abf management its far easier to get another abf, you would have to convert the management to k-jet or megasquirt if you fited a 9a/6a or add a trigger wheel for the abf stuff. 2 xhoices there a custom setup that bolts to crank end or factory bits from later polo.
abfs are newer and arguably easier to find nowadays so id go for that

eveything on my mk2 is converted to abf manament it all came off a mk3 16v wide tracked the lot.........so now the hunt goes on........

i dont see many abf bottom ends sittings around tho lol......
just hope my head ant to ruined..

i would fit a complete engine, your head is probably warped as you say. you could get it stripped and skimmed, but prob easier to find a complete engine rather than a bare block

+1 if the block is that bad, head will not be much good.

yer think i'll do the whole engine swap as i cant trust any of what i have...... even tho the head looks in good condition,but even if i get another engine i've still got to overhall that as i dont know wot condition that will be in...

im in no major rush as i have plenty to do on the car anyway. plus i gotta get the rest of the engine out the bay and give that a clean up... ...

do yourself a favour. get on to just vwaudi, theyre in theberton near sizewell. he's got abf's 9a's etc, i got 1 a few months back and its all good, cost 300 quid, and made 159.5 on kjet. u could have it running in no time..

i've called him about a month ago and he didn't have one

will try him again tho......
