Audi throttle/pressure reg` - DX engine
« on: 09 January 2005, 21:47 »
I imagine this will have been covered before but can anyone help or point me to an old thread ?

I once fitted an audi fuel pressure regulator and throttle body to my Mark1 which gave good results (not a great deal more power but you got the torque a lot earlier)

As this was a long time ago I can`t remember the correct parts to get, to do it to my newer mark 1.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

i know about the bigger mk 2 or audi throttle!

but i rather puzzled by you asking for a fuel pressure regulator!

i thought only electronic fuel injection cars ie mk 2 gti digifant! had the fpr valve since the mk 1 is k jectronic injection and the pressure valve if they have one would be in the metering head! which sits on top of the air box!

but i dont think you can replace the pressure valve if there is one!

i cant remember my mk 2 k jet having one!

What he means is the warm up regulator, you need an Audi 80 one to go with the throttle body. Use this on an 8v k-jet engine.
The warm regulator controls the fuel pressure.

if remember correctly the fuel pressure regulator is screwed into the side of the metering headjust after the inlet pipe banjo bolt if you take this out you will see what is like a small piston with a spring on it which regulates the pressure if you put washers under the spring you are preloading it and it will take more pressure to lift it and therefore more fuel pressure
