Flash red
« on: 29 July 2010, 21:49 »
I've a 95 Colour Concept in Flash Red LP3G, got a touch in brush and an aerosol from Halfrauds and colour is way out. Obviously I'm assuming different shades?

Before I go to motorfactors tomorrow and go through colourcharts does anyone know was there a specific shade used on all colour concepts??

Cheers in advance

When i was spraying parts of my car I started off using a halfrauds 'off the shelf' tin which was an crap colour match (too orangy). I went back and they mixed me up a tin in store and the colour match was perfect

It costs twice the price mind

It's better paint as well dude, wouldn't normally buy off the shelf but it was just for a couple of wee bits and I'd a couple of halfords vouchers. I may just get some mixed tomorrow and do the bits again.
Cheers

get hold of the colour code - e.g. MME, take it to a proper auto paint suppler and they should be able to match it for you perfectly, and its only like £6-8 a can :)

That's what I'm gonna do today dude , but if it's anything like common VW colours, tornado red and alpine white etc there'll be at least 4different shades so out with colour cards!!!

Red is THE worst colour to match coz it fades!

I found that I had to lacquer mine. Without it the finish was very dull and matt, even with the lacquer it took a fair amount of cutting back and polishing up to get the same finish as the rest of the car
