Mine didnt cut the starter. Maybe it was playing up all along. Only had it a month

Starter motor was ordered at lunch. £70. This rebuild is getting expensive now!
I think your goal is remove the bit of the immobiliser that affects the fuel pump if possible. I'll just let the guys at the garage stress about it!

Just to come back to this. When changing the Starter motor the battery was left disconnected for a few hours. This seems to have allowed the immobiliser to reset and sort its self out. If this happens again, its gonna have to be looked at properly.
