Water hose diameter

I have a split hose and need to replace it. The hose goes from the water pump (just above the bottole rad hose) to a metal pipe (leading to oil filter area) and is about 4inches long could someone tell me the diameter of it so i can pick up replacement unable to remove from car right now and want to pick new one up tomorrow.

i ve got same problem with my mk2. could you tell me how you solved it plz, as i can't seem to get hold of the pipe thanks
