Rolling arches....

I've just got some new wheels using adapter plates, tyres are 195/40/16.
The tyres rub on the rear arches so I am going to roll the arches unless anyone has a better idea? Also how do I do this? I'd like to try it myself, already taken off both plastic arches so ready to go! Or is it better to get them done by my local bodyworks?

you will need an arch roller to do it yourself, properly. i borrowed on off a friend and did mine. beware that the paint can crack!

best off getting quotes from bodyshops, as they most likely need some filler and a respray after.

I'm going to get the car resprayed at some point in the next year and the car will be off the road in 2 months so not bothered about paint cracking etc, is this the best option? I am currently running standard suspension and saving for coilovers, just hoping the front arches will be ok after it's lowered!

it rubs with standard suspension?? sure its hitting the arches?

try and get ahold of an arch roller first, my mate made his so dont know how available they are.

How thick are the adapter plates? Must be about 20mm and there lies your problem!

So et23 less 20mm means et3, going to need more than the arches rolled to be honest.

Even 15mm adaptor plates will leave you et8.

Major work needed.

hot air gun, hammmer and fold the arches back, rub down prime and spray, pop arch trim back on and bob's ya aunty's french poodle

And they're only 7J wide :P
Serious work needed to sort these puppys out especially if you CAN rub on standard suspension!
