The whole country is very beautiful and really amazing.
It is very clean, very safe and very different.
You'll find it strange and amazing at the same time.
I think they are in the 22nd Century!
Really worth a visit.

must check about the LED tail lights - dont think they have them over here at all.

My plan is to get the car in 10 days and then during August I am going to recreate the route that Clarkson took when he raced the Nissan GT-R across Japan through the mountains from the west of Japan over to Tokyo (I'll be doing it in the other way around from Tokyo to the east coast).

Can't wait!!

Hello and welcome

Are European cars popular in Japan? Never been before but from the pictures I see of traffic, there never seems to be many Euro cars around

Well I finally got to collect my new car!!!!

The sun was blazing down (36C here at the moment) and the shadow blue metallic looked amazing glittering like a jewel! The car has been treated with something called a permanent coat (glass coat maybe?) so it looks spotless.
No regrets about the colour at all - its very unusual that it looks so different depending on the weather in that its more flat blue when cloudy.

Anyway, first impressions are wow! I used to drive a MKV GTI before but this seems far more planted on the road and more 'chunky' than the older model. Driving home from the garage last evening had a Honda NSX try to race me on a flat stretch and some young guys in an old GT-R follow alongside checking the car out. Didn't think that the car would bring such attention from those in the know!

Will post some pics when I get a chance - thanks for all your comments so far.

I love Japan. Coming back to the UK after a holiday there is a complete culture shock as to how backward and disorganised we are. But, somehow, I love the UK more - just!

The UK is backwards and disorganised?  You want to come and work in Saudi even for a few days - then you'ill be BEGGING to go back to the UK which is paradise in comparison.
