ABS question

Hi all
Had my M reg 8v GTI a few days now. The ABS light and handbrake warning light are on so I got hold a cable and downloaded VAG COM Lite. Im getting 00285 and 00287 fault codes, indicating the problem areas are the front and rear right ABS sensors.
Looking thro the posts etc on here i can change the front sensor without too much trouble and hopefully that will sort the 00285 fault code out but i have noticed that a few people on here are saying that an 00287 code could indicate a problem with the ABS pump. Ive tried lifting the rear seats and swapping the connectors of the two rear ABS sensors. The same fault codes came up. Does this mean the rear right ABS sensor needs changing or should i try changing the pump?
Thanks in advance for any help

+1 5 minutes with a multimeter will give you the answer.

The same applies to the rear.
If it's a 5 door, lift rear seats, disconnect abs plugs and check sockets with multimeter.

Ok Ive managed to check all the sensors now and im getting a reading of 1.0 on all of them. I guess this means that they are all ok and its the pump that needs replacing. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
