GTi-VR6 conversion
« on: 27 July 2010, 16:40 »
Hi all,

My friend recently met an ex-VW mechanic while testdriving the new 370z, who had 3 VR6 vento's just sat there!!
So my mate (who dubs BMW's) pretty much sorted me out with a VR6 engine, wiring loom, gearbox and ECU.
But this chap says that he can do the conversion for me for 1500Euroes.

But i was wondering how big a job it is for VR6 engine, gearbox and gubbins into a GTi.
I am a mechanic myself in the Army but if the job is long and tricky then i don't realy have the time for it!

Any thorts from past converters??

Thanks

Will

Would it not be easier so buy a VR6 and sell the GTi?? That would save you both time and money??
