Put new alloys and Dunlop Sport 9000's on my 130 5k miles ago and soon after had it mapped.

Well, to say they are worn is taking the piss! worn right through equally.

What are the best tyrs to be using when youve got ooodles of torque? Im thinking of banging budgets on there now, if they wear out so quickly...

Google different compounds of tyre but they both have their pros and cons.
Hard compound = lasts longer but doesnt stick the the road as well as soft compound
Soft compound = shorter life but sticks better
Generally this is what ive found.
Should be some good tyre reveiws out there, ive read quite a few.

Did they evenly wear ?

If you look for a previous i posted about tyre munching i have only been getting 10 months out of my tyres but mine was down to wheel alignment not holding so had to replace the lower arms and the track rods in the end.

Most tyre companies will say you probably won't get more than 10k out of a torquey front wheel drive, 5 k does seem very low.

Not complaints about my Vredstein Sportrac 3's, had them on a couple months (4k ish) and still loads left, although my car is a big heavy 7 seater with the PD engine so you would expect it to wear tyres down quicker than a lighter Golf.

My car isn't mapped (Yet ) but I've been running Maxxis MA Z1 and I'm well impressed, they are a resonable price, seem to be wearing well after 7K they still look new and seem to offer a good balance of traction in the wet and dry.

I'm not sure what they will be like when they've worn down a bit but so far I'm impressed, I've just changed my wheels over (Not swapped the tyres back around yet) so am running on some half worn Pirelli P6000 and they are crap in the wet and I'm not that impressed in the dry either. I was going to buy P6000s new but the boiler breaking put a stop to that so I ended up with the Maxxis and they're really good.

Have also heard allot of good things about Vredestein and might try these next.
