spraying plastic bumper and T cut

Couple of questions.

1. I bought my Mk3 a couple of months ago, it's Mystic blue (purple) and have noticed a few cosmetic bodges from the previous owner.
The rear bumber has had a scrape and has been badly colour matched on the corner, what primer/ paint can i use? or is it just normal car paint......... i wasn't sure as it is on plastic.

Also halfrueds don't do my paint code, do the main stealers do paint in an aerosol?

2. I also found a few paint marks/ scratches in various places, whats the best thing to get rid of them? is T cut an option or is there something better.

1. Two options here - you can either use a plastic primer, or use a plastic preparation coat and then a normal primer. The colour coat and top coat will be normal.

You will probably get much better results if you sand down and spray the whole bumper rather than just the touched up bit.

Halfords should do your paint code - it's just that you have to get them to mix it. Although, if it's a spotty teenager at the paint desk, then walk away.

VW are worth a shout and may still stock your colour. It's about £20 for a kit containing colour and lacquer, but you'll need at least 2 for a full bumper.

2. Depends on the depth of the scratch. Anything that's gone through the clear coat will need repairing.
