Exhaust Problem
« on: 19 July 2010, 17:14 »
Hello,
I have problem with my exhaust in my GTI and service can't solve it. When im driving my car from 3rd till 6th gear between 2500-3000rpm I hear resonans from the back ( exnaust ) . You can hear this nois only when car is moving. Anyone know what can It be ? I'm asking because after 2 times in service still they don't know what can it be and they don't want to change muffler for new. Please help.

That seams to be a known issue in the USA IIRC.

VWNA published a TSB telling dealers to do nothing about it as it's a characteristic of the car

On the plus side it doesn't do with my Milltek Turbo Back Exhaust

^^ I have already priced these up for someone else and it took me a week to drag myself up off the floor

I am keeping an eye out for a Mk6 with Xenons that has been rear ended and then it would be doable
