removal of plastic arches

hay all going to remove these as im getting them painted to make them look fresh but how do you remove them as i dont want to break anything.

Why paint them, don't think that would look good to be honest.

not painting them the same colour as the car,im using plastic paint so they look like they are brand new from factory....then they wont keep going gray and lokk faded

Go get your self some Linseed Oil and some cloths. Spend a night polishing it in and tadaaaaa

yer i no about the heat gun trick ba.....when i rebuilt a nova i done all the plastics on that with this paint and it just made it look so much better.

I'm pretty sure the arch trims are pop riveted on, so they'll need to be drilled out and re-riveted when they're ready to go back on.

no worries boys all information is welcome in my mined never know wot you mite learn ................. think the drill mite come out unless i get some arches that are in better condition than mine cos i think some1 has tried painting them a few years back lol.....

be prepared for some rust lol, personally i wouldn't paint them either as it will eventually peel, if your going to take them off id use  the heat gun method, then grease/waxoil underneath when you refit the arches
