Return To The Forum

Hi all

My name is Ryan and I used to be registered on the forum and came along to a few of the meets(Stonor park, E38) about 4 years ago. I was based down at Benson with lewy(dont know if he is still on here) but I moved to the great wilderness that is known as the north of scotland. Anyway I have just moved back down to the rolling hills of Oxfordshire and Benson again I have acquired a new golf.

It is a LHD mk1 golf 1.6 gti that has been kitted out for track days. It is sliver in colour with leda suspension, fully polybushed(engine and suspension) strut braces, full rollcage, fire extingusher, timing gear and no interior. Its this car here:

I dont know much about the history of it bar it was raced by a guy called keith smith/groan? and prepped by AW Tracksport .

I have started to strip it to sort the small patches of rust and knock out some of the dents. It is then getting resprayed in metallic silver and the rollcage in candyapple red. I plan to make it roadworthy again as it doesn't require much for this but keep it kitted out as a track car. Possibly in the near future it will be fitted with a g60 engine but nothing drastic as it is pretty much what I wanted. I am going to hopefully use it for hll climbing, rwyb days and just messing about on the roads with.

Heres a few more pics:

Aye, was a good one. My favourite Edition to date I reckon. As for this year, not sure yet as I'm selling the Rallye has I've had enough for the time being. If the Rallye sells then probs no, if it doesn't then I might go. :undecided:
