hi all my 2000 golf 1.8t has got 127k on it had cam belt done 10k ago tho do you think it be ok to get a remap??

It will be fine to remap. Dont be surprised if you start getting clutch problems though. Turbo might start coming to an end of it life at some point aswell. This is all guess work really, could go on for ever, depends how well its been looked after.

Me personally, I wouldn't. Id either get a car with less mileage or just not bother risking the agro and cost of it all going wrong, but thats just me.

had my agu remmaped 2 months with 138k on the clock, no problems as of yet with clutch etc etc

We did one 6 weeks back and I was shocked when I was running the car on the rolling road and noticed 208k on the clock and the speedo hitting close on 130mph and 7000rpm. :wink:  A guy who used to work for us had his 160k AUM maxed out close on 3.5 years ago, 100s on miles on the rolling road under extream load writing maps and testing map changes ect.. And still to this day 3 owners down the line the car is hitting 225bhp/250lbft and the only issues in the last 3.5 years was a slipping clutch and 4 coil packs. The turbo is the original one which it came off the production line with.   We tend to see cars with less than 80k have more minor issues after tuning.
