Miltek ???
« on: 17 July 2010, 20:46 »
Im on the last 2 major mods for my golf gt tdi, im soon going to be purchasing the miltek 3" down pipe/decat. But im unsure whether to get a "Longlife" exhaust system as ive been qouted £320 for cat back and fitment of the down pipe, or whether to go for the miltek cat back from awsome gti, but its £360 and i would need to fit it myself, Basically deos anyone really know if the custom made jobbie will be as good as the miltek system, Ive been told that the downpipe and cat back makes a real differnce on the gt tdi's,

Thanks

Its just a straight through bit of pipe at the end of the day.  I've got a Milltek downpipe but in hindsight I most likely would have gone for the full system from the place I got my cat back system from

£360 for a catback system?   I paid £300 for mine  :smug: Its not a Milltek by the way

So the £360 your quoted is for cat back?
So you'd have to buy the downpipe seperately and get that fitted at the same time as the back?
How much is the downpipe gonna set you back? You going for a Miltek downpipe?

Yep, £360 for cat back miltek system, the miltek down pipe is £160 and then would have to mess about fitting it myself, or i canbuy the miltek dwonpipe for £160 and get a custom made cat back for £320 and they'll fit the downpipe for free.

Can't Longlife make you a decat pipe?

Any other exhaust places near where you are?  Might be worth shopping around :afro:

Only illegal on a petrol engine  :nerd:

THS Performance do one which is cheaper and comes with a range of adaptors to fit your standard exhaust system if pennies are tight

How can i make my standard exhaust sound like a non resonated milltek? Will a large bore d/pipe do much difference?
