What happens when you lock the car?  Does the locking pin ping straight back up?  If so then you'll need a new door module

Can you lock the key from the remote fob?

hi rhyso, ( door golf)
the keys need to be re-programed so opening on the key maunally ,turn once opens drivers door (normal) twice all doors and boot, but if you open boot or pass door alarm goes off, have to put key in ignition first its only that vw  said about the proplem/do the modules  cost a lot and hard to fit?
 thanks jon

Do you only have one key fob?  Does the key start the car?  To me it sounds like it just needs re-synchronising which is a two minute job - don't let the dealers con you into a new key!

Sadly you'll have to pay a bit more for thee new key as the immobiliser chip needs programming to the car.

Might be worth finding someone local to you with VAGCOM who would do it for a few beer tokens
