DodoJuice wax Hype...Why should I buy?
« on: 14 July 2010, 22:22 »
Someone tell me why I should use dodojuice. What is all the hype?

Why do they sell a wax for light and dark car's? I thought a wax was a wax?

I want the pannels to look like deep glass. What wax would I need for this colour?

thanks

not sure which dodo u will need, but can say its good stuff, i used the purple haze on mine, had trouble in the past with shadow marks left by waxes, not so with this so i was well happy

i would say tho, for a wet look, a couple of coats of jetseal 109 before the wax is amazing, its my fave product of them all

As good as Dodo Waxes are, for a real wet shine, it's 99% in the prep/polishing stage. The wax will add very little.

The difference in the coloured waxes is very minimal, you can use any colour wax on any colour car, they are colour charged but like I have said, they will make very little (if any) difference. I suppose it's just nice to use the same colour wax on your car.

Dodo waxes are very good though, I can guarantee you will not be unhappy with any of them.

yep chris is spot on  the different colours make little to know difference finish wise though they are all different recipe wise, they all use different waxs in the ingredients etc etc and believe it or not will give you a slightly different look depending on what car you use it on, the hard waxes will need a bit more technique in there application where as the soft waxes are very easy to apply, the hard waxes will give you a glassier more reflective finish and the soft waxes a more wet look glossy glow.
the supernatural and pro waxes will give a very nice finish with a bit more durabilty thrown in for good measure.
as chris said its all in the prep, alot of people buy a dodo wax or any wax for that matter and think they can just slap it on thick and it will make there cars look the biz but the most important stage is the polishing and correcting stage

the hype behind dodojuice is there because they produce very competetive products that produce a very nice finish at a very reasonable price.

I've only recently started to use Dodo Juice Purple Haze pro - it is a very good wax and durable. They seem to know their stuff and don't fill out their products with rubbish.

Im doing a full detail tomorrow. Im using Optimum Hyper compound spray,Optimum Hyper spray polish, Opti seal, Then as a topper Purple Haze.  Im using a Porter Cable 7424.
The purple haze and sealant will be applied by hand I will let you know what I think.  I used to own a detail business in the states and have used many many different products.  I know the Opti will do 98% of work though so there might not be noticable difference after i apply the Dodo.

Got the wash done with Dawn and now its raining BIG raindrops... I hope it clears up I was planning on going to the Fairford Airshow tomorrow.

I just finished. Opti compound, polish, and sealant worked great. Took me about 4x on the compound on a panel to find out what worked best.
Now the Dodo Juice Review.  I bought this from Autogeek and when the SMALL "pot" showed up I thought it was make-up for my wife. Smells like coffee.  I applied it per the instructions... It was extremely hard to remove. Almost like I let it bake in the sun for hours. Before I applied it my car was "silky smooth" from the sealant now it wasnt my hand skipped along the paint instead of glided. I give it a 2 out of 5 .  there are much better waxes out there.  If anyone wants mine I live off the A-11 in Suffolk. Its yours I wont be using it again. I dont see what the hype is all about.

was it the pro version or the normal purple haze? normal ph smells of lavender and the pro version smells of what i can only describe as liquorish/tobaco shop. both versions need to be applyed thin and the pro version needs a little longer to cure and 9 times out of 10 will need a second buffing.
if you found it hard to remove you've possibly applyed too much or havent given it enough time to cure or a combination of both.
if you really dont want it and your willing to post it i'll take it off your hands thank you please

It was Pro.

I will do a wash and apply a second coat tomorrow see what happens.

There is no exact science for how long to leave it to cure, too many variables. Just make sure you apply it as thin as possible.
