Theiving B@stards !!
« on: 14 July 2010, 22:02 »
Thankfully they didn't get the car this time as it seems they we're distrurbed !!

But i've got home this evening and the missus noticed the back door to the house has been tampered with.  Police CID woman came round and said there is a gang working in the area and it does look like they we're trying to get in for the keys to have it away !

Needless to say, my alarm house alarm is now on. The security lights on !  The motion sensor webcam is getting ordered and i'm off to get 3 deadlocks for the door !  And last but not least the new fence is going up with a few carpet gripper rods, For the cats :P

Apparently a quick jolt with a pair of plyers around the door barrel and the locking mechanism dies. That's it then they're in and off looking for your keys...

I got lucky this time the missus woke to noise and seems to have scared them off.  They'll find my security updated when they return.  She seemed to think they would be back as well.

Word of warning to all with GTI's lock up you house and keys, don't be a victim !

My old man was having his cuppa tea the other morning at about 6 and said he saw some bloke snooping around my car and checking to see if it was locked. He banged on the window and he guy ran off.

What a bunch of cvnts ! I try not to leave it on the road but sometimes there isnt space on the drive :(

Where are you guys based? Most of the gangs appear to be around manchester/bradford areas from what i understand.

Main reason I got rid of a UPVC door, (takes about 10 seconds to break in!)
I would reccomend anti vandal paint as well as the gripper rods on the fence, catch them right in the act that way.

I also use a steering wheel lock, though the car can't be stolen due to immobiliser, it will add about a minute on to them taking the car, allowing more time for me to call police/throw things at them/petrol bomb my own car...

Calling police and general attacking sounds good.  Not sure about the petrol bombing part.  Would it be a V power petrol bomb? :)

Cops actualyl said the UPVC door was fine.  I've only just fitted a new one to the back where they've tried to break in.

Lucky for me a spent some dollar on it and got a security door.  It was strenghened in all the right places and they just didn't get in...

Only weak point the security cp found was the euro barrel, if you have standard one get rid of them and fit these...

http://www.abs-secure.co.uk/thesolution.asp

They may not look that different but they have built in sacrificial parts.  The parts fail so you multi point locking on teh door doesn't.  In other words they ain't coming in without breaking windows etc !

I've just fitted a fence, gripper rods being added next week :P
