Personally I like the matt black look but with your car as its a really nice colour and not to common I would save your money and get the panels painted which need doing. My car needed the roof, lower drivers door, whole passanger door ,tailgate and top drivers side rear quarter painting and he also painted my hellas and front grill I saved and it cost me £600,I still need the bonnet doing but im in no rush but I was thinking of flattening mine down so it went like a matt red before I had it painted, but im glad I didnt.Just save some money and get some quotes might not be as much as you think be a shame if you done it and it didnt suit it you would just be back to square one.

I think thats the point though, he needs probably similar to you and £600 just isnt possible??... as you say though, still worth getting a couple of quotes to help make your mind up, each cars needs are different and so are sprayers prices.

dont do it! diy matt or any other job is a lazy pants way of doing it.

just wait til you an actually afford to do it or try to source some new panels with a better colour match.

Talk to a college.

They'll do a professional job of it for the cost of the paint.

This is a great idea.
If you are still going to matte black the car then be careful. Some matte black cars are really patchy and look awful, others take things a bit slower but even with rattle cans the result can be awesome.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3

Also if you do DIY it and then go on to get it done properly at a later date, chances are it will cost a hell of a lot more to get all the rattlecan paint off.  2k auto paint doesn't tend to agree with it!

Also a major factor to consider is, if your spraying skills are like your mechanical skills....well...i think you know where this is going!

If your set on doing this Shady I'll fire up the compresser and do it at my place with a spray gun?

Remember the storage charge
