Help - Fault codes
« on: 12 July 2010, 06:29 »
Hello

My Exhaust emissions warning light came on about 2 weeks ago after a VW dealer service.  I had it booked into an indy anyway for a brake fluid service (not prepared to pay stealer price) and they said the following fault codes had come up:

01089-P0441 Evap emissions control system incorrect flow lower limit reached intermittent.

00665-P0299 Boost pressure regulation control not reached lower limit reached.

08200-P2008 Intake manifold Bank 1 electrical malfunction upper limit reached.

08583-P2187 Bank 1 system too lean at idle.  No signal/communication intermittent.

00256-P900 Mass flow sensor Supply voltage no signal/no communication intermittent.

12600 - P3138 Intake manifold runner control regulation deviation not a plausible signal.

The Indy changed the spark plugs and cleared the fault codes and it was ok for about 30 miles, but the fault light has now come on again.  The car feels a little rough at idle and the rpm fluctuates also...

I'll obviously be taking it back to the garage, but wondered if anyone had any views on what the root cause of the faults might be?  Thanks very much.

00256-P900 Mass flow sensor Supply voltage no signal/no communication intermittent.

That one there is most likely the root of the other codes

This one could possibly be linked to a faulty coilpack. A faulty coilpack would also give a rough idle.

Swap the coilpack over to another cylinder and see if the fault moves with it to confirm.

Just as a follow up, the MAF was faulty and has been replaced and the warning light has gone off.  thanks for the responses.
