supercharger or tubby ?.
« on: 09 July 2010, 10:08 »
Hi there,
Aswell as installing nitrous like my other thread suggests, I am thinking of keeping my mk2 track toy and doing some more work to it as i can get it going better than my s3 with less money :D.

Now if i keep the standard kr engine what will i need in the way of parts to turbo it or supercharge it ?.
Im ideally after pinching parts of other cars and bolting it all together as i don't want to spend silly money on it.

Mini supercharger , can you get these to fit ?.
Now as it is litterely a track car so reliability is not a major worry as i can tinker with it, Any suggestions would be grande :D.

Not something you can really do on the cheap, your going to need to drop the compression.

The Mini supercharger is a Eaton M45 which is only really designed for up to a 1.6, M65 is a better bet but your still going to need to get a lot of parts made.

you cant really do it on £500

So,

Turbo
Manifold
Lowered compression (NO GASKET STACKING)
Reinforced bearings whilst your rods are ooot
Management system for fueling (k-star or somthing)
Extra injectors
Wiring for all that
Adaption of the K,jet to give the extra injectors the fuel
Increase fuel line preasure
Big Brakes!
Time on a dyno getting it all set up
Intercooler
Piping
Oil pipes and possibly cooler
Wastegate valve
drilling holes all over the shop for the oil pipes and wastegate.
G60 Clutch

ect ect ect ect

£500 = ABF

Anything else is gonna be more.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
