Had a good look at your pictures. Yes, very flimsy fitting.
I've just been out for a wander and checked 3 other Mk6 5 door Golfs.
The nearside wing on 2 out of 3 is slightly more proud of the door and more so than the offside wing.
However, mine is ever so slightly worse and possibly due to the accident.

I got confused between the knob and the nav. It's easy at my stage in life.

Snoops: Would it not be easier for them to re-position the front wing rather than re-hanging the door?
