I have to say I'm well chuffed with the GTI. I've always wanted to own one and it hasn't disapointed.

I brought my car ex demo and was lucky enough to get a great spec for quite a few grand off the price of a new one.

Although I love the Monza's shadows I wish there was a bit more wheel choice, i.e. the Golf R wheels and Scirrocoo interlagos alloys.

All GTI's should also come with door seals as standard.

Sat Nav bugs me in the sense that you can't put a full post code in.

and of course thanks to you blimming lot I now fancy some of those rear LED's.

One of the things I love the most is the attention the car draws. It gets more than a few admirers.

I have to say I'm not interested in this re-mapping. That's just my personal opionion, but I guess you can't knock it unless you've driven a re-maped car.

Would I do it again..... YES

I forgot to mention Xenons, I would have liked those.

Can poke ACC though.

@ MAW73 i agree with all that mate, it's the kids that make me smile when there eyes light up! What do you mean "door Seals"?
I've got steel grey, Shadows, rcd510 and rear camera and i absolutely love it, the only other thing i would spec next time is acc cos the roads round my way are shocking and you can really feel it with the standard springs, although they do seem to be getting softer which is weird!

I know it's not for everyone but I urge you all somewhere to try a remapped mk6 as i wouldn't still have the car today if it wasn't for the fact that the map takes it to a completely different level as a car. It's an R beater (as much power but lighter).

p.s. waiting for barrage of abuse from r owners.......

Nope Erik Van Voorst I do want the power on mine. I had meant in the Original post that we would discuss factory options... which has maybe led people not to discuss maps etc.

I think that everyone with maps will get them again. I am running the car without the map just now and can't wait to get it back on. The standard car is fine but the map always makes you smile. It's not so much the hp I like but the torque

I've had mine for a week now and I love it! I'm taking the long route to work just to drive it.

I got mine with the std 17" Monzas, front and back parking sensors and the RCD510. I'm love the feel of the car on the road and really looking forward to getting it run in, so that I can turn it loose. And that note from the engine/exhaust brings a smile to my face.

In terms of build quality, I think it's pretty good after my Alfa GT (which I loved and had no problems with in 3 yrs of owning her) but I suppose everything is relative.

I originally had the Monza Shadows spec'd but cancelled them with a few weeks to go. They look fantastic, but I didn't think I could live with the hassle. I had 18" on the Alfa and they made the ride a bit "jittery", which was another consideration. After cancelling, the dealer said he could understand why as they were finding getting refurbs done was a nightmare.

I don't think I would spec anything else, maybe the Winter Pack. I would certainly buy it again, but for me ownership has been short
