No help here i'm afraid dude but i'm with ya on that one. my renewal came the other day and it's DOUBLE, yes DOUBLE what it was last year and i've got an extra years no claims!  When I asked why this was, the guy said "insurance rates have gone up slightly"... Slightly??? My god in heaven, what are these people on???

Yeah your in it m8, just got a quote on direct line was amazed £337 all in trouble is
im not sure what there policy on mods will be, im going to ring Hic again and see if they can match it.
Considering i get a 10% discount thru the forum with Hic that would make it more then Autotrader at £560  perhaps im being naive but i`ve used Hic for a while now.
The audi  A4 avant 1.8T sport is only £240 i know its not a gti but is still a group 14 car i think, let you know how it goes.

cheers

Part of the reason is because it's an Anni. I found when looking for insurance on 16v MK3s and 16v MK3 Annis that it would jump up a fair bit for the Anni, most likely because they are more sought after.

Went back to Hic and got it down to £360 all in, cancelled within 14 days with
autotrader who wanted 525, now for some mods  i`ve been getting some
prices from AMD in Thurock anybody used them around 450 for AP coilovers
fitted with laser alignment.
Unless somewhere knows anywhere in herts area to get work done.
thanks
Rob

How'd you manage to get it down so much from origional hic quote?? if you don't mind me asking?
Wouldn't be fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?
