the hissing noise will be the wastegate venting as your maf is reading high so the ecu "dumps" what it thinks is the extra air/boost in the system. I would assume the jerking is a misfire as the maf signal is sending dodgy readings but not quite exceeding the upper limit that triggers the 16487 code

did you clear the codes? might be in limp mode

check there isn't a boost hose popped off too because that can sometimes trick the ecu into thinking the maf is dead

I did clear the codes, took her for a spin, same again, less jerky though, more like a smooth hissing/tornado!

Exact same codes came back, but no "17705 - Pressure drop between......." though, just the MAF one!

Will check boost pipes tonight when I am back from work "again" because it does sound like the turbo is producing loads of boost, its just all going to waste.

I will be back.

Well, f*ck me, I have found the problem.

The boost gauge which I fitted at the weekend came with its own length of silicon hose. Which at the time I thought,

"thats a bit soft"

When under vacuum the hose collapses in on itself and kinks over, then when on boost the air to the FPR is cut off/restricted massively. It looked like this thing was alive when revving the engine.

Replaced now with some proper stuff so fingers crossed.

(I say fingers crossed cos i haven't actually taken it out yet   )

Ha ha, also noticed a bit of a boost leak on the charge to pancake pipe, going to ditch the cr*p o ring/c clip arrangement and fit a silicon reducer!
