Panel Filter

Has anybody fitted a new panel filter,

There are offerings from Pipercross, K&N, ITG and VWracing (Which is twice the price of the others)

Not normally into to tuning so wanna sort this before the exhaust, not gonna chip as mate just had Focus RS die and now argueing between Superchips and Ford about whose gonna pay.

IMHO with the standard map there is no point adding any other hardware mods.

I have seen from dyno'ing my own car the standard map will make no benefit from the hardware mods.

Steve, what did you get on the rollers, I've heard the some cars running 230 in standerd trim. The graph on suprchips www shows 249 before there remap?

In stock my ran 206bhp at the wheels (VW quoted figure is flywheel), and changing the intake made 0 different on the stock map.

When running the Revo map and ITG filter it produced good gains over stock airbox and filter.

Even the ITG panel filter in the stock airbox saw good improvements.

ITG panel filter from VW Racing?

The VW Racing one is a rebranded pipercross filter. 

The ITG one is available from ITG directly or Merlin Motorsport

Cheap, if it keeps your warranty intact.
My dealer seems happy with anything 'VW Racing'.

The ITG costs £47, sort of average cost between VW Racing and Pipercross.
Southern Carburetters in Wimbledon supply and fit this.
What about K&N? Any views or knowledge of this?

Question: Does the ITG panel filter have a positive effect in a stock car? K&N claim their filter does.
