looking at buying a 1.4 as a first car. wondering what can be done performance wise?
could i put a turbo on?
if so what does it consist of?

Its a 1.4 mate, will be cheaper to buy a GTI/VR6 and you can actually buy kits for them.

I'm looking to supercharge my VR6 in time, that's not going to be cheap even with readily avaliable kits!

Insurance would be cheaper on one of them, then getting a turbo.

As far as i'm aware there are no turbo kits for a 1.4, it's not a sought after engine.

8v GTi's aren't too bad on insurance, and would be a hell of a lot cheaper than declaring a turbo on a 1.4!

its your first car, make sure your a good driver before you start looking at increasing performance ;)
