Wet Carpet

changed the seats in my mk2 this morning put some nice raddo seats in but when i was hoovering under where the seat had been i noticed it was all wet. not totally soaked jsut a small part around the center of the front doors but the seat wasnt wet and neither was the door card it is on the otherside of the support for the seats towards the rear of the car, we had some pretty mental rain lastnight and ive never had a leak before just cant figure out where its come from as the doors and seats are bone dry.

did you just extend the bolts on the corrado seat

Common problem
Fix it with plastic bags like Rubble sacks stuck on with strong tape like duck tape or silicon sealant
If this isn't it, then there are a couple of other things: Sunroof drains blocked. (Unlikely as the seats not wet) Scuttle tray drains blocked (more likely) But try taking your door cards off first, and see if the membranes are hanging off!

no slammedmk2 had some longer bolts he gave me worked great

thats actually ok cause i did central locking about month ago and the original membrane is glued in there plus i put some insulating tape around the top of it for good measures .
it could still be the problem ill check later but how would that affect it unless the bottom of the door was filling up and leaking into the car i guess?

Honestly check these as they unstick themselves very easily, electrical insulating tape won't hold it on.
The door drain holes could be blocked, but more than likely it's just heavy rain getting inside the door and splashing on the membrane running down and into the car.
Honestly I couldn't work out how there was so much water in mine. (I had a mobile paddling pool) I'd put in a new passenger front window and thought i'd stuck the membrane back on properly. I bought new door and window seals and still it leaked. then when I tried to stick the membrane down properly using plenty of duck tape. Bingo no more wet carpets!

hmm ducttape sounds like a good idea 
ill give it ago it hasnt done it since but im goner check the membrane  and maybe replace it with a large thick sheet of plastic see if that helps fingers crossed.

 :grin:lmao because i took off my rear door cards and found that there are no door membranes whatsoever.  What the hell is all that about

Because you have a 3 door there is no need for membranes in the back as the windows don't open and thus no water can leak down through the window waistline seal!
