Starting problems are sorted - got a proper look in the light and it was a blown fuse I had wired behind the immobiliser box.
I have a constant flashing oil light, I believe this may be due to my alternator wiring? In addition to the main charging strap, the mk1 loom has a blue and a red/black wire, but the mk3 only has the blue one. Anyone know how best to wire this up?
