Monza Shadow alloy repairable?
« on: 27 June 2010, 11:50 »
Got a chunk out of one of the Monza Shadow wheels by someone hitting a kerb

Is this repairable:

The tyre took a whack as well but I beleive if changed without the alloy being repaired it will hold pressure.

Might be possible to fill it & re-paint but i bet it won't last ? i.e next tyre change etc. I think i would go for a replacment.

Sent it off to Spit and Polish who did a fanatasic job for £60.00. Can't tell if it's been repaired even if you look closely!

No idea how they did this, they are original Monza Shadow diamond cut wheels, the finish is exactly the same as all the others and the damage/repair is not visible no matter how close you look.

They must have alloy welded the wheels and then flatted polished and laquerd the wheel but evan then u would see a very small line where the old and new alloy meets

perhaps it was the old switcheroo? someone in the tesco carpark going " I don't remember that happening" :lipsrsealed:

or they are very good at what they do?
