RNS display colour can be changed with VCDS (Highline, Sportline etc), muting options are part of the RNSs options (settings, I think...muting volume, amount of muting, on/off etc).

Thank you.
The muting of volume when reverse is engaged is a useful feature for me. I'll look into this later.
As for the display colour, I am not too bothered at present. What I am bothered about is my ability to understand and use the features. For this I need a manual. No doubt. It's pretty difficult to teach this old dog new tricks!

Correct. Mine are defo not the same colour as yours am1...as I am quite sure Darren changed mine

I would imagine its another Vagcom thing for the reverse mutting thing.

Did you also get the voice recognition thingy??

No, as I said above...it's in the 'Settings' (I think) menu of the RNS.
You can select low, mid or high levels of muting.
I've fiddled about with the settings on mine.

On the subject of a manual...can you order one from VW?
I'd ideally like a proper one to go in the Handbook folder.

Anyone know?

I am sure you can, I ordered one for my MFD2 which I retrofitted to my previous car, cost me £5, less than one I saw on ebay.

R32UK - I think I do have voice recognition as Darren said I did with the latest VW Prem B'tooth kit :undecided:  I'll have to ask Darren or Steve for a screen colour change. But I'd like to compare first. :nerd:

Ess_Three: Darren said it was possible to order the RNS510 instruction manual/handbook  from my VW dealer at a cost of £5. mustard also says so. I'll have a fiddle tomorrow with the muting levels in 'settings'. Thanks.

simonpolly: I'm sorry to hear you don't approve of my knob. Looks really wonderful in reality. Please come and have a good feel and look.

Too much technology for poor old me. :lipsrsealed:
