coolant temp sensor

ok well someone nicely suggested this maybe the cause of my problems  :undecided:

but how will i no if it is? do i just remove it an then try the car?

also where is this located?

and how much is one of these goin to cost me?

thanks rhyso i did go out an look an have located it but how do i def no if this is my problem?

i mean my car is running like absolute rubbish popping n blowing when getting in the higher rev range and stuttering like a hesitation.... also im currently doing like 13 mpg  :sad:

i dont wanna replace it if it isnt  :rolleyes:

Just disconnect the connector and see it if improves at all but only for a short time!

Crap MPG is normally a sure fire sign of a knackered temp sensor

Does your temp gauge act funny?

ok well i shall remove it for the school run :P

should i ntice a great deal of difference if it is the cause?

an to be honest i havent noticed the temp gauge playing up  :undecided:

as you got full vagcom why don't you log it like snap-on suggests in your thread...

poppin and blowing to me sounds like it isnt firing properly, which would suggest either ignition module or coil pack failure.

Try the temp sender first and like rhys mentioned, if you have vagcom try do some logging as the guys on here could soon diagnose it with fault codes.

yes will re do her on the vagcom

no def not a coilpack problem i dont think though im guessing this also would show up on a vagcom reader?

an surely if it were a coilpack that would be an easy solution for a mechanic to pick up on,,

it seems to have them stumped atm  :undecided:

yeh it should show on vagcom if coilpack is down, same with ignition module and temp sender.

cool sorry im so not with it today well off to go an shuc her on the vagcom now :)

then see wat tht says an then if nothing suggests it i will disconnect the sensor anyway an see what it does
