Some white smoke & a little piece of metal ?

Oks when i start my engine sometimes i get some white smoke out of the exhaust.

On Friday i was replacing my AC fan and found this little piece of metal its about 6x8mm about 1mm thick this wouldn't have came from my turbo would it? explaining the white smoke.



I ve had the white smoke about two weeks or so could have been longer but haven't noticed till then I have drove 180+miles on Friday/Saturday the car did feel a bit down on power but the car had a full boot of camping stuff and 4people with bag on there laps so the car was very loaded up, but before that the car felt ok its only the 90bhp Tdi so always going to feel dowmn on power lol  :laugh:

Also cars not over heating and the coolant is fine.

Where did you find that?!?!?!?   :sick:  Has it got a visible edge where its cracked off something?

Ref the white smoke...  noticed anything wrong with your coolant, any gunge under the oil filler cap etc?

on the under try, just sitting there.

nope the coolants fine and no smeg on the oil filler cap.

It's highly unlikely to have come from within the engine.  Could have even flicked up off the road, but more than likely just something broken off when you did that recent work.

Is it metallic?  Any signs of a damaged edge where its cracked off something?

so its unlikely be from the turbo  :smiley:
i put it somewhere safe . . . just don't remember were lol ill find it

that hasn't come from the turbo.
do you get white smoke all the time? mine smokes just on a cold start for the first minute. am yet to find out what the problem is :sad:
