today the boot wont release..

Adding to my list of faults, the day after i sort the knocking noise out the boot will no longer open with the fob! i can hear the motor whir but it wont release. only works with the key, which feels a bit brittle in the lock when turning! any suggestions? (other than buy a new car!)

New boot solenoid? Take the panel of and lock te carnandnseenif it

Remove the panel off the boot and wd40 the solendoid and locking mechanism. Cycle the boot lock on the fob a few times and it should fix. The metal oxidies and stiffens up the mechanism. Worse case get and replacement solenoid from a scrappy.

Undo the two scews in the handle bits and then tug!
